How to create a WordPress quickstart package

Hi guys,

Pretty impressed with the WordPress themes and how easy they are to install. I would like to use the quickstart process to move my themes from local host and client servers. The WordPress site uses several steps including exporting your databases and initially installing a blank installation of WordPress dropping all table and importing your sql file after replacing the URL references etc

I note your quick start themes do not require any database importing, just creating a configuration file and fresh database and your good to go! Could you please enlighten me on how this is achieved to improve my current workflow?

Its not that easy. Instead please use this process:
1. Copy all files via ftp.
2. Check .htaccess in the root of wp install if it contains localhost folder structure (if you have tested your site in eg. http://localhost/testsite/ you will find /testsite/ there - it needs to be reduced to simple /)
3. edit wp-config.php and change database connection
4. Use phpmyadmin on localhost to export entire database
5. Use phpmyadmin on server to import database
6. Download stable version 2.10 from this link http://interconnectit.com/products/sear ... databases/
7. Upload downloaded script to the root of wp install on the server|
8. Access the script on remote server and go with those steps - it will convert host name in the database.

I know, a lot of steps - but if you know what you are doing - all beside copying files via ftp takes like 1 minute .
