Main Menu sub levels hidden behind content

Hi,

I'm using Meet Gavern template with Joomla 3.6.5 , building a website for a non-profit organisation.

I've put a menu with sublevels in the menu position of the template.

The menu works fine when I'm not connected to the website, however, if I do connect (login) to website, the sub menus are hidden behind the content below.

I've modified, in template.css, .gk-main-menu ul ul, z-index=9999 (instead of 10), as I've seen in other posts, but this hasn't changed the problem.

This website will have lots of content for those who are logged in, and not being able to use the menu correctly when logged in ruins the site

From what I've read, Meet-Gavern is no longer supported ?

How can I fix this ? Should I change templates ???

The site has no valuable content within it, being that it is in initial building state.
