I would like to know if it's possible to embed the close-up effect at product images on the product details pages like it is on StoreFront.

This kind of modifications are beyond our technical support.
You can either hire a skilled frontend developer or someone from support gavick team for this custom job or just simply do it by yourself if you have the skills.

You can base the idea on storefront solution - in most cases it requires of copying few javascript and css lines, sometimes file or two.
