I have a site using Simplicity. The template is updated to the latest version for Joomla 2.5. I am about to update the joomla to version 3.4

My question is about the template. IS it better to install the Template version for joomla 3.4 Before or AFTER I do the Joomla update?

Also should I use a standard template while im doing the Joomla update and change back to simplitity after?

You should install new version of the template after updating Joomla. The safest way to update would be to create all files and database copy, do the update on the copy and after successful process - bringing the copy back to original place.
