Getting the Top band to stretch across

I would like to be able to stretch the black and gray band across the entire width of the screen even if it means that it goes beyond the width of the template. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this??

Sorry but it will be impossible without modifications in template layout structure. You need to separate this elements from main area or even create a wrapper container for whole container. There is no code that I can provide you and this kind of custom modifications are beyond our support.
