I change the color of font in the back end. But it doesn't show up that color on the main site. The spacing seems off also.

Yes. The CrateConnect Blue logo up top is larger is size. But showing up much smaller.
If I go and open image in new tab with this link

You logo original has 570px of width
and I saw that you added static width in override #gkLogo.
Most GK templates were build to use smaller logo that why you have to do some extra job each time.

If you will add css style ones , it will work till site dead.
