Making mega Menu fit in the template dimensions

Hi

I'm building a regional portal using elvesocial and, sinde there are a lot of categories in the menu, am trying to use the group&collumns feature of Mega Menu.

However, the menu stretches far to the right of the mainbody area, going all the way to the edge of the screen. Please see the screenshot below.

I've tried playing a bit with the css files (template, mega, gk-stuff, style1), but can't seem to get it working.

Some help on this would be highly appreciated.

this is a customization... the megamenu works as the programmers wanted it (it's a part of t3...)
