Updating Permalinks

Hello,

I am running Wordpress Quickstart Creative Template from my server.

Lately i was trying to update the permalinks on http://www.discovermworld.com/wp-admin. I was unable to change them as it said I need to update my .htaccess file or something? Not really sure why this is happening but i wasnt able to solve the issue.

I am also wondering why I cannot update Wordpress to the latest version or update any of my plugins from wordpress admin?

Does this have anything to do with the GavickPro setup in the Creative temaplateWordpressQuickstart?

I would love for you to have a look at it to see if you could at least point me in the right direction of where i could get the information to fix this issue....

Could you switch your theme to e.g. Twenty Thirteen default theme and then check again? I don't think that it's problem connected directly with our themes, please check the default theme and let me know.
