Facebook icons, API, sharing rather than liking

Hey hello,

Three questions.
First off, our Facebook icon keeps disappearing. It is there when I look it up on Firebug, but it doesn't show. What could cause this and how to fix it? This is in K2 items and Joomla items too.

Secondly, how do we ensure that the link says 'share' rather than like?

Finally, the client has a Facebook fanpage, so we really cannot see where or how we'd get the API. We've tried googling it, but would be happy to get pointers or help from here if possible. Not having the API means that even when we try to share links on Facebook, it comes across all garbled and messed up on the Facebook end.
