Hello,
First let me start out by saying I love the Gavick templates.
I have read all the other posts on this and other forums about slow loading Gavick templates.
I have been running Corporate 2 and MovieMe for about 2-years and have tried everything I know. I have 5 domains running and the other three non Gavick websites load in 1-2 seconds so I know it's not the server response.
1) I have tried all of the operating systems. XP-Win8 and the MAC OS's.
2) I have tried all of the Browsers for IE7-IE10, Safari, Firefox, Google Chrome.
3) Tried different locations with varying degrees of bandwidth. Corporate & Private)
4) Worked with my ISP for months.
5) I even went so far as to double and then triple my memory on my VSP.
The first time my websites load takes anywhere from 10 -15 seconds depending on the time of day. I get the message in the status bar "waiting for the website to respond." Now after this initial load the website flys along loading page after page from the menu bar.
Now if I clear my history and go directly to a URL on my website it loads quickly. So I've narrowed it down to the load on the home page. Heck, I wouldn't mind if the page came up partially and then loaded the rest slowly.
I'm at the point of thinking about upgrading to Joomla 2.5, but I'm afraid this might not resolve my problem and I would do all of this work for nothing.
The one website is http://www.maa-imcs.com
Has anyone been able to figure this out? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Dwight

Dwight I feel your pain!
The templates are brilliant looking but unusable in a real world situation. Have tried various hosting packages also. Unless you're going to spend £££'s on hosting there is no point using them.
