Image instead of text on submenu

Hi there... how is it possible to add a submenu to one of my menus that will display images instead of text links for the menu...

Meaning, e.g the menu name Balls and the submenu would be Red, Blue, Black but instead of having the words to have images, one red ball, one blue ball, one black ball...

Any thoughts?

you can add clases to menu links in menu settings. And then add image as a background in css and text-indent to remove text from link.
