joomla 3 and jomsocial 3 upgrades

really would like to keep using my template as well.

I have no idea what I'm going to do once I can't upgrade to Joomla 3 or Jomsocial 3

What do I do? Do I have to figure out the necessary updates for the templates myself? Hire someone?

I would have liked to know before I started my social networking projects that the updates were never going to be available because I thought these could be used long term.

First some facts, Joomla 3.1 or next 3.2 is not long term version, so please be patient and wait until Joomla 3.5 will appear. It's this same like was with Joomla 1.6/1.7, did you forget ?

Second, we are also waiting for a stable version JomSocial 3, now we have access to RC.
We have plan to make a template for this component because it's very popular and many people ask for this.

What do I do?

Use Joomla 2.5 and JomSocial 2.8.x for next few months. Are you really need J3.x right now?

No... I didn't see your long term vision. You're much more up to date with the structural changes than I am. I'm excited to hear about these changes. I'm in no hurry. I just want to know there's some kind of stability as I'm hoping to keep my site stable for a few years more even if I have to overhaul it with an upgrade... that's all.. curious of what to expect.

Joomla 2.5 it focuses on stability and will be supported into 2014. Joomla Team will provide a one-click upgrade from Joomla 2.5 to any Joomla 3 version and you just have to make sure that all your extensions are compatible before upgrading.


Stable JomSocial 3.0 will be realize in next few weeks, so you have to wait and now focus on website concepts.
