Adding Google translator to the left of social icons bar

Is there any way to add the Google language translator widget to the left of the social icon bar in the header?

I know. Not my decision.

I was considering making a new module position but when I look in the template preview, I don't see any reference for where I can place it. The social icon area just floats there with no indication of what position it is in.
Plus, I've looked through all of the php template files and I can't find the correct file to place it in.
In which file would I add the new module position? Any suggestions?
