Hello all,

I just noticed that the quick package of the template (yourshop) is not working on my website, even though I tried the package on localhost on my computer and all worked just fine...

Why might be the issue? Does quick start package need something else (when compared to regular installation) to be worked on a website?

Any help is appreciated a lot, thank you.

Regards,

The solution: Upgraded the php version from 5.2.13 to 5.2.17 in the server, that's all :)

I'm %100 sure that there is no problem or lack with the server...'cos I use 1.5 and 1.6 templates on this server and I'm even able to use the template "yourshop" if I install everything manually...Also tried it on 3 different servers :) same issue, weird huh.

You think it might be a configuration issue or do you think i should manually change some stuff?

By the way admin panel is working just fine, but I see a blank webpage on the frontend. (If I change the parameters from the backend (default to iphone), some articles can be seen as well, but no template at all...

Thank you Teitbite, looking forward to your prompt response.

Hi

Please tell me step by step how You are installing the quickstart.

It should look like that:

1. Download quickstart
2. Upload the file to template
3. Unpack the file on the server
4. Open the site and follow joomla installation instructions.

I have enabled showin errors on the site, but there is no messages of any issue and this is the strangest thing.

Hi,

1. Downloaded Quick Start.
2. Extracted (Unpacked) it on my computer into the "gk_yourshop_quickstart" folder.
3. Uploaded all the files in the quick start folder to the server by using Core FTP.
4. Opened the site and followed the joomla instructions.

The reason why I haven't unpacked the package on the server is because .rar files cannot be extracted (unpacked) on my server.

Please see the attached screen shot to see the program and the way I use...

Thank you for your help. Have a nice one!

As you said, I tried to upload the rar file and extracted it on the server, but this didn't work out either.

As another way, I installed joomla 1.5.23 and uploaded the template separately and uploaded the quick start later, then all crashed due to jcomments.php, then i fixed it but same thing happened at the end. A white blank page with its fully functional admin panel :) pretty strange!

Did the Gavick-Admin Paulo install the demos on gavick.com with quickstart.rar files?

Hi

Unfortunately this shouldn't be a problem. I thought about it but I'm running quickstart on 5.2.14 and the difference between this two version is not in the part which can provide the site to act like You have.

Most probably the problem is with uploading files. I was able to upload extracted folder without problem with broken files only a couple of times. I think that the never version has treated the code less restrictive so couple of destroyed lines was not a problem till it's not a main functionality.

Actually, I was thinking about broken files while uploading, but that didn't seem like logical at first as if It'd cause this issue, then made sense. Somehow, you might be completely right 'cos 5.2.13 already runs the template just fine when I upload everything separately. (Joomla 1.5.23 plus the template).

Strangely, after upgrading to 5.2.17, which is the stable version, the website suddenly started working...

Consequently, a fast and smooth upload + stable php needed...

Hi

This can be also because some bug in joomla itself. Quickstart is not running the latest one and it's the only difference between quickstart and installig it separately. Anyway good it's working :)

Hi

If site cannot find the main file of the template than I believe You need to reinstal it because files are missing. Please also check the premissions. Files should have 644.
