Hi,

I really like the yourshop template, and it was the main reason for my subscription. I may use it as a shop at a later date but my initial use is just for a kind of normal website, normal but in at least two languages!

Anyway i wanted to check out some of the gavick tools because they look and work so well on the website demo. However I have since found that because they all come with their own gavick management component it's support for Joomfish is limited at best.

Rather than finding big workarounds that aren't practical when outsourcing translations, I decided to go back to modules that work with good old Joomla core content. First up is YooCarousel - functioning as tabs.

What is happening?

I just want the module to appear on the page as normal. It has it's own unique IDs and classes from the get-go but it's still getting screwed about by whatever tags the template is adding around it.

Is it OK to use other people's modules on Gavick templates?

What's wrong with joomla core content for your modules? There's one place to look for everything, works with other components, extends the use of your modules. It doesn't make much sense to me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, CB

I am also having trouble with YourSite

After uninstalling any plugin or module not made by Gavick I still get my website turning to unformatted text

No pics no layout just a vertical bank of links which is not a good look... and I cannot see why Banner 2 is made to repeat two times..

But for now I would really like my site to look like the demo every time someone visits my pages.

Can I disable mootools for instance..

Hi

Naturally, it's ok that other 3th party extension can be used on our template, but we cannot guarantee that they will work properly. This is valid not only for our projects, but also for other team developers. Most probably, some of our free extensions may have compatibility problems on 3th party templates. It's impossible to create so complex projects and have them 100% compatible with everything that is built around joomla.

Anyway, please follow this instructions:

Go to template parameters and enable override.css file.
Next add into this file the following code:

Code: Select all
.moduletable.yootab .button{background: none;border: none;height:auto!important}

Now go to this module and add this suffix "[space]yootab"

The result show be like this:

About the issue of our extensions and joomfish support, if you search on Joomla! extension directory, there's some 3th party plugins that works on Tabs Manager GK3. Anyway, please remind that it's not from our production.

Cheers

I don't think your problem has anything to do with mine, so you should have started your own post.

Your problem is pretty severe and from the looks of it your site isn't reading any CSS rules at all.

Seichinha is right, it's very hard to diagnose a problem without having a URL to look at. It's even more difficult if offering a fix because unless that person can test it then they can't really be confident that it is a fix.

Turning off extensions that didn't come with the initial setup is probably a good thing to do, if you once had it working. If it hasn't gone back to how it was then you musyt have done something else wrong. You could try akeeba backup in future, so if something like this does go wrong you can revert to a 'saved' version (a backup).

Good luck, but start your own post next time.
