Alternative Component View - simplest way?

I have been asked to create an alternative component view for certain pages on my site.

I have read all about alternative layouts etc, but would appreciate a little feedback with this from Gavick users. I don't want to change the layout - just the styling.

Basically all I need to do is assign an alternative style for "gkComponent" so that the article has a different border/background color etc. I appreciate I can add styling to "item-page" by assigning this in the menu manager but this won't override "gkComponent" will it?

What is the simplest solution?

I would appreciate any input from members or admin alike.

The easiest way will be use suffix for pages and then add some additional code to override.css file. The you can achieve different styling for .gkComponent by using .someSuffix .gkComponent which should overload default styling. Suffixes for pages you can set in template setting but only for template create for Joomla! 1.7/2.5.
