I'm getting major errors on this site floweroflifepaths.com

a few of them being

when I go into my admin panel and click global configuration
I get a blank page
when I click on my plugin manager I get a blank page.

I was trying to solve this problem so I tried to reinstall the template files again...

now I also have to solve these two frontend errors. I can't get into global configuration to shut off error reporting. and also I can't change the timezone. I went into the php files themselves and couldn't figure out why there was an error or where to fix it in your files.

Warning: date() [function.date]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. Hi,
please check if you have set 'Display_errors' option set as 'OFF' in your php.ini settings. If you don't have access to this settings pelase ask your hosting company to do it.

Yes, I did it, but there is no change in the error messages I reported in my previous email.

meaning all errors from my previous email still apply and I can't do anything with my template. I really hope someone can help me fix it. I tried uploading the template again, but it didn't work.

Please check in php inif if you have:
Code: Select all
error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE

Probably you have only first part without
Code: Select all
~E_NOTICE

no it's set properly... I've added the file.

I'm unsure why or how you thought that would fix the backend errors of not being able to see my global configuration or see the main menu items or anything else...

I've been looking into scratching the site completely since I have so many problems with it at this point.... although it's a lot of work for something I'd rather not do for such a simple site.

If you have any recommendations on simply scratching joomla and the template but keeping K2 and the image galleries and media files that would be great.

okay, so I installed the Black and White 2.5 joomla template... completely deleted the other template...

Now I'm having new problems.

When I go to template manager and click black and white...

I get to the edit page.. which is fine, but I change everything and I click save and nothing saves. I've tried it several times.

I try to change the logo and instead of a popup I get redirected to a new page where I can upload a new image just fine but the insert button doesn't work for the image.

Then I click back and click cancel and I go back to the list of templates... click black and white and start over again.. but I can't save. The save button never works.

Can you send me Private Message with access to your Joomla backend?

I sent it yesterday!!

Have a good weekend.

I also noticed that I also can't save any of the modules to post K2 articles instead of Joomla articles.

Thanks,

Eve

I also can't create and save a new menu item.

I have no idea what is wrong.

I installed this from the black and white quickstart 2.5 package... it should have no problem right? I mean.. i don't know. i haven't looked very deeply into it, and the buttons simply don't work.

I checked your backend and everything was working ok. I was able to change and save settings in template manager. Also I was able to load logo. Popup shows up as should.

You're right! I was using Google Chrome and nothing works apparently!

Thanks for letting me know to switch browsers.

Now, I have a new problem with the configuration out of the box.

I imported my K2 from my old site. They are all uploaded happily.

But I can't change the menu item to display it at all. None of the menu options for K2 are working. I tried every single menu option for K2 and cant get anything to display.

Thanks

I used my chrome and I was able to add K2 item to menu. You can check. It has to be something with your browser settings. Maybe you have java script switched off.

The problem isn't that I can't create a K2 menu item.

I can do that and create the menu items for all of the different K2 options.

However, they don't display anything at all and even the menu I item you created has a 403 error on the frontend. It at best will display my author information. I can't get any articles to render on the frontend.

Thanks

Do you think it's because I disabled all of the modules? I didn't think they were necessary?

Thanks!

No I don't think so. Please check on default joomla template if you can do it.
