Hello,

it has been a while !
I have a super cool extension that I wish to use on my sporter template site, the Jnews extension that provides the capability to run various newsletter or marketing campaign to the website members from the front end of the site.
I installed it.
My problem is, it shows some serious incompatibilities with the Gavick Sporter template.
The Newsletter admin panel item can be access through one of the main menu item.

but the pages served from that location, with list management, the design and pre-viewing of the newsletter to be sent etc ... these pages are not showing up as they should because of the Gavick sporter template !
which brings me to my question :

Is it possible to override all Gavick Sporter template css for a specific item id, while it still shows in the sporter template page ??? ...
If yes, how do I go about it ? ... please advise

thank you

Hello,

thank you for the reply ..
these 2 extensions are great ... they have helped me on another matter ( mainly the css2switch one ) ! .. but not on the matter at hand.
I may have formulate my concern wrong ! .. I am sorry !

This is about a component ( JNews smartnewsletter ) that can only be accessed through one of the main menu item ..
this component provides the capability ( just like an admin panel ) to manage newsletter campaings and user lists, etc. from the front end. The page that is generated when clicked is obviously in the mainbody position of the Gavick sporter template ! - there are links on that page that enables one to make a newsletter, to launch campaings etc ...

several of these actions are not really do-able, or , they are shown innapropriately ! due to CSS and possibly JS scripts that are loaded by the template.

the same component works well when I use an alternate template ( like Beez or Atomic )

It seems that I have to look for an alternative solution to make this accessible from the front-end.
either with :
1) a modal or popup window ( like JCEpopup or else ) from one of the main menu item. ( I did not succeed .. I am still trying !! it is not easy to do for a main menu item to access a component .. it works for normal articles though ! )

2) either with overiding all css and js for that page alone ... ( it did not work - the items still shows up badly )

3) either I load an alternate template just for that single action .. ( this would be a last resort alternative )

Can someone help me with this ... make this component work in the sporter template ??? ..

The key issues that are causing problems are : previewing the newsletter before it is sent ! Certain table headers are wrongly aligned, wrong spacings, ( or simply broken) ...
