i have been trying to figure out why the date and Day is showing Jan 29th when it's March 17th.

I just did a fresh Quickstart install of postnote and found that the K2 component does not exist.

i looked for a K2 version compatible with 1.6 and cannot

how do I get the day/date to function correctly in a 1.6 install of the postnote quickstart???

any help would be appreciated

then how is the Day Date showing in the 1.6 version of the postnote template?

I attempted to install the latest version of k2 in 1.6 and got a blank white screen.

Is this something that needs to be removed if you use j 1.6?

K2 for Joomla 1.6 will be available in April/May...maybe. I never heard about a beta release for Joomla 1.6, so it is not realistic that the new version will be launched in April. The developer of K2 component are still working for the new version (4.5) for Joomla 1.5. So, you should wait that the developer of this component will update it for Joomla 1.6 or you should try another solution.

This mean that Gavick cannot update this template until the new K2 version will available for Joomla 1.6.

OK???? Well I just did a fresh quick install of the postnote template made for J1.6 by Gavick

I realize that K2 isnt ready for J1.6 - but it appears Gavick already made the template ready not realizing that any of the K2 stuff built in wont work

Ill just have to remove it I guess, thats if I can find it - lol

You could try to install K2 on J 1.6 I be surprise that it would work at this time you need to use jom_content or look at an alternative like zoo.

Thanks Lafrance for the insight - I really appreciate it

changing the create/pub date worked perfectly - BUT...

on the frontpage I would like to hide the date - is that possible?

I read in another post that the date settings are K2 related and without it I am not sure how to customize the settings - any ideas?

Hi

Of course we know that. ;)
All J!1.6 template versions released don't have K2 support, because there's no version !1.6 of this component. So what will we do? Don't release our template to J!1.6? ;)
When K2 J!1.6 is release, we will provide this support.

More or less off-topic:
Here's my honest opinion. J!1.6 is very recent and there's still an important lack of extensions in all community that doesn't have upgrade version. If i were developing Joomla website at this moment, i would not built it on J!1.6... not yet. When all that i would need were stable and available, them i would migrate to J!1.6. But that's my personal opinion.

Cheers ;)
