joomla article on frontpage

Hello,

is there a way to avoid show any white-rectangle-with-little-shadows on the bottom of frontpage if I don't publish any joomla article?
I mean, if I don't publish a joomla article I still can see a little white rectangle with shadows on the bottom of frontpage.

I'd really like to can put it off without chaging the css.

disable mainbody from template mananger should do the trick...
