Hi. I currently have mystore version 1.0.1 installed, and are now going to jump up to the latest version, 2.0.11. Can i get a general walkthrough about how to do this correctly? I understand i have to replace some files, but as i see that earlier updates contains different updated files i dont know if replacing the files from the last 2.0.11 update will be enough..

Thanks

I do agree that there should be some step by step guide on this, maybe in the update section, as its important for a salesman to focus on his core business and not on searching for "how to" keep the site optimal. Time is money.. So again, appreciate some feedback on how to do this, the sooner the better.. Thx

There are plenty of threads that talk about this, plus Gavick recently released a blog post talking about this and how you can not loose any custom changes people have made to a template when updating.....

this is what he ment...

http://www.gavickmagazine.com/blog/item ... tware.html

and in the forums it's covered many times... i'd suggest you download latest and then compare all files from your version to the newest, and then apply all changes.

in the future, i would suggest everyone to enable override.css from the template manager and then make every changes to the css there. this way you will not loose any css customizations you have made when changing to new version..

Just to confirm, i overwrite the files in /public_html/templates/gk_mystore with the files in the newest update file?
What about the "admin" folder? I cant find any "admin" folder to replace in my template directory.

And one other thing, i have my own custom made logo, will this get overwritten if i just overwrite everything with these new files?

Thanks

if you update all files, yes your custom logo will be overwritten... take a backup before...

there should be a administrator folder in the tgz file..

Hi. Looks like my the update went well, besides from one things: The The Gavick photo slide GK3 does not load any products/ images anymore.. It just "loads". Have a look yourself at www.dropz.no . Do anybody know what might be the reason for this, and maybe how to fix it?

I don't see any problem.
The images are loaded quickly and well.
Tested with FF and IE8

Weird. Seems like it doesn't work in safari now then, i tried it with chrome now, and like you said it loads well. However, it worked perfectly in safari before i upgraded the template files.

I also see in when i use chrome, that the round image group indicators under the slideshow is still red, not blue like the rest of the template.

I've tried with Safari also and i see them too.
Anyway, i think last version of this browser have some problems... but that's my opinion... not really one of my choices.

OK thats fair enough, guess my safari is a bit unreliable. Thanks for checking:) . By the way, did you see that the image show is showing as red, while my template is set to blue?

Not yet.
Probably it will be this Monday - 6th.
If not, next day because there's still some work to be done on our new homepage.

Cheers ;)
