I have two difficulties with myStore template. I am using myStore v2.0.10 and VirtueMart v1.1.5 stable - currently installed on my Localhost.

Problem 1 - Cart link shows empty cart
I created a user account, logged in and added 1 item to my shopping basket. If I then click on the "checkout" button, this items shows in my shopping basket. However, when I click on the "cart" template link, it shows that there is nothing in my shopping basket. See images below. What am I missing?

Problem 2 - Confirm and Checkout
"Confirm and Checkout" takes me to https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr. PayPal is disabled in the "List Payment Methods", yet when "Confirm and Checkout" is clicked, I am taking to PayPal sandbox website. What am I doing wrong?

we will need access to the www.. we can't reproduce this...

and please see the terms and conditions...

Gavick.com does not commit to monitor the forums, but we reserve the right to respond and answer questions.

my advice is to try disable all 3rd party components...

Thank you for your response!
Allow me to point out that I did not only post a message on the forum, I emailed you guys direct asking for support - to which there was no response.

The template is installed on my Localhost and as yet not on the web. If time allows, I will upload later and email the link to [email protected]

However, I can tell you this;
It seems like there are 2 shopping carts working independent from each other. The template generic items listed on the Home page (NSP GK 4 Latest Products) are not added to the VirtueMart Cart - it seems to be added to another cart. Does this sound confusing? It certainly got me very confused!

On checking, the problem is visible on your own myStore demo site.

Visit the demo site --> On the Home page, find the products listed under "NSP GK 4 Latest Products" and add "HTC Hero" (or any other product listed there) to your shopping basket.

Once done, return to the Home Page --> click the "Cart" link in the top right corner.

There are no products listed there. Why?

Add more products in the same way and follow through to "Check Out". Whilst products are listed on the checkout page, still no products visible in the "Cart" link.

And you said that you can't reproduce this!? :(

It is not a bug - "Cart" link is connected with the VM component. K2Store is an alternative component and it isn't connected with the VM Cart.

So if I understand you correctly, there are then indeed 2 cart systems!?

How does one replace the K2Store items with VM items and still retain the look and feel of the template?

yes it is - it is only example page - normally user use only one system ;) K2Store hasn't similar cart module so you have to use VM if you need the cart at the top.

Then this template is pretty useless!
One would expect that the template will work right out of the box. The buyer should only have to delete the sample content and create their own. But what you are now explaining here means uninstalling modules which came standard with the template and then find/buy/install replacement modules.

Hey man, this is simply a joke of doing business this way!
Then, all the new releases and required upgrades due to errors!
How many bugs and errors are there still within this template?

I am really pissed and I want my money back!

MooseMoney - yes, we can also totally ignore K2Store component and implement only VM support. Please analyze the situation again and start to think rationally...

Nobody is asking you to ignore/abandon K2Store. I am simply telling you as a customer (and a non programmer) what does not work for me. I believe that most customers would expect that a bought professional template would;

1. Work right out of the box,
2. Not discover that certain modules have to be disabled or deleted,
3. That new modules have to be sourced, perhaps purchased and installed,
4. Keep reading about bugs and errors thus requiring new template installations.

Regarding K2Store, you can make this template available in 2 versions; one for K2Store and another for VirtueMart. This way, the customer can choose properly and not have to deal with the issues as per this thread.

Having said the above and as a last ditch effort to salvage this template;

1. For the template to work in VirtueMart, must the modules showing the products marked with the yellow X must be deleted? (see picture below)

2. If so, what other replacement modules can be installed to create the same look and feel?
