How to use virtuemart backend

I want to use the virtuemart backend, but when I click any button in the virtuemart backend, it brings me to the frondend, how can I change this?

Also, when using virtuemart via the frontend, the page gets scrambled up.

In the backend the button images dont work either.

What am I doing wrong? I have searched the forum but didnt find an aswer. Please see atached screenshots
