I can't use the nice "quickstart" as I have to work off another, given Joomla base installation.

I set it all up it all works fine, all what is required to make the myStore work is installed but now it would be nice to also load the sample data / sample layout coz it just makes it so much easier to work with a template first time, in particular as I did never use VM before, just starting to dip my toes into it....

Can you give me some quick pointers how to load the sample data which you ship with the "quickinstall"?

THANKS!!

P.S.: I have some other, given, sample data already in the database, coming from a template a potential customer suggests (I'd like to convince him to use the myStore...). These given data are nothing business critical, just demo also, but if possible I'd like to keep those data (if possible)

in continuation to my question:

In principle I would assume it requires:

1. to put the sample media used in your your myStore template (coming with the quickstart) and move them to the corresponding location of my installation

2. import the myStore quickstart mySQL database into the other installation I prepared

- assuming that the tables/fields of the other installation with its own pre-existing sample data do not conflict (!!?) with the myStore sample database I should have both sets of data in the system to use/compare (and if they do conflict then data are being overwritten and dun work, of course).

Again, its all non-critical, non-production data, nothing at risk, just to learn how it would work

Thanks

I thought about it a little further and googled around that subject (for example http://www.paulwhippconsulting.com.au/w ... s-into-one).... and you probably do not want to discuss that here... ;) it's a snake hole, no surprise....

So, herewith I withdraw my request for info on that subject as it opens up to all sorts of problems.... I guess you are happy with that (withdraw) ;)
