I 'd like to have a closer look at the myStore template and see, nice surprise, that it seems to be optimized for mobile devices?! But I am having a hard time to find info on what that really means, in particular what to consider if the shop is being set up. I trust that there are some constrains or things to take into consideration to take advantage of the ability of displaying a shop on a mobile device, right? For example, there are in the template manager some presets but it is difficult to understand what they mean. iPhone is mentioned in both dropdowns, what is "default" vs " iPhone" vs " handheld", etc. Can you point me to the source of some info?

thanks!!

can't point you to anything, but will try to tell what is what..

the iphone handheld and default is various css files optimized for phone and web...

iphone is optimized for the way iphone display webpages, this is also suitable for android phones. the handheld is a generic way of showing the content... and the default is what you see in your browser on the pc...

when enabling the iphone or handheld, you will not get the full page, but only various things. you will see joomla articles, and what modules you set in the mobile top and mobile bottom positions.

hope that shread some lights on the mobile versions...

you can always set the default to iphone or handheld to see how it will look on a mobile... when setting default to iphone, you will see the mobile version of your site on your desktop... changes are made in the iphone.css and handheld.css

you know what a "Freudian slip" or a "Freudian lapsus" is......? ;)

its when you mean to explain something, try to SHED some light on something, but instead say "I hope it SHRE(A)DS some light..."

got it... ? ;)

FUNNY (or not?)

back to serious and just to be sure I understand:

If the "optimized for iPhone or handheld" feature is used, I would assume the end user's browser tells the myStore website if the site is being accessed from a mobile device or a desktop and myStore displays the correct layout (desktop or handheld/iPhone optimized) accordingly?

Or do I have to choose, meaning, when I activate the iPhone and/or handheld options then I will also reduce what the desktop user will see?
