Image Show Issue

I don't want to use VirtueMart to power my image show.

I uninstalled the image show module and photoslide component from the template.

Then I installed photoslide and image show gk3 component and module.

Here's what happens when I attempt to view my slideshows:

If template style is: Image with thumbnails block -
I get the first image, but not additional images. Text block works normally

If template style is: Image rotator -
I get no text block whatsoever - but I do see all the images rotating

What am I missing? I'm taking the default style settings that come with the component.
