VirtueMart categories layout

Hi,
Im looking for a little bit more options regarding the displaying of the categories i have listed in VirtueMart. I have 6 categories, and now they appear in two columns, with three rows. I want them to appear with smaller photos, one column, and 6 rows. In addition i want to be able to customize the text spacing under each category, and display a short description for each of them. But i have been looking around for a couple of days now, and i cant find the options for this in my control panel. Is there a way to achieve this??

this is really a customization, but try post your www, and maybe an image of what you want to achieve... and i can look at it..

As you can see, the images is all in one column, not two, with smaller images.
