I loaded the demo site via quick installation. When accessed the Virtue Mart component and clicked on configuration or any option in the VM component, it throws an error. I cannot check its options or do anything with it. Any reason why?

The following is the error I get:

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache mod_fcgid/2.3.5 mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at mystore.saudilife.net Port 80

Hi

It seams a server side problem... maybe on PHP Settings.
I recommend that you contact your host server.

Cheers

Thanks. I checked with the host. They say:

The rewrite rules setup on the domain is causing the issue. Please check :

[Sun Jul 11 01:45:50 2010] [error] [client 66.45.229.82] Request exceeded the limit of 10 internal redirects due to probable configuration error. Use 'LimitInternalRecursion' to increase the limit if necessary. Use 'LogLevel debug' to get a backtrace., referer: http://mystore.saudilife.net/administra ... virtuemart

You should examine the .htaccess setup on the domain again.

They say contact the vendor.

There was no .htacess file. After adding it, it did solve a part of the problem that now I could access the links. But its all kind of jumbled up... If you were to access the backend and try accessing VM, you would know what I mean.

i guess you didn't follow the steps in the sticky note of the mystore forum..

It is connected with file administrator/components/com_virtuemart/virtuemart.cfg where you have to change lines:

Code: Select all

// these path and url definitions here are based on the Joomla! Configuration

define( 'URL', 'http://project.gavick.com/dziudek/may2010/' );

define( 'SECUREURL', 'http://project.gavick.com/dziudek/may2010/' );

to your own address. Sorry but it is a virtuemart bug that it basis on addresses by this way.
