Product in Cart Issue

I have read virtuemart forums for days and could not find any answers. So perhaps this is a template issue.

I have a product (a shirt), when I add to cart the size "Small" from the dropdown menu it adds 1 item to the cart. But when I go back to the same product and add the same size again it doesn't update the cart to "Quantity: 2", instead it adds the product to the cart separately. So It shows:

Product - Quantity 1
Product - Quantity 1

Instead of:
Product - Quantity 2

I would appreciate any help, thank you.

I am using Joomla! 2.5.6 and VM2.0.6

Did you set your joomla template to default beez template and then try again to see if this is template related.

I've just installed recent My Store Quickstart and following is what I checked. I couldn't reproduced your error. So it is difficult to suggest anything other then to check with default joomla template.

1. Installed initial versions are below.
Joomla version : 2.5.4
Virtuemart : 2.06
Virtuemart AIO: 2.03

Adding products 1 at a time and adding multiple time works fine in cart module and cart and check out page.

2. Updated to Joomla 2.5.6. Rest is same as above.

Works same as above.

3. Updated Virtuemart AIO: 2.06a. Rest is same as above.

Works same as above.

4. Disabled Joomla Config > SEF Settings

Works same as above.

5. Enabled Joomla Config > SEF Settings

Works same as above.

6. Changed Menu item Alias incase generated url is not adding product.

Works same as above.


Few Questions:

1. When installing your website did you use quickstart package or only the template itself on top of standard joomla install.
2. What is your template version.
3. Are you using any SEF Component.
4. What is your SEF settings in joomla config.
5. Are you using multiple Language in your website.
6. While in category view hover over on a product and make sure end url which shows product id are the same ids. For example like below.
