Adjusting the layout of the checkout page

I have a website that is just about ready, save for one detail on the checkout page..(the first one)
I need the billing info and shipping info to be displayed next to each other instead of on top of one another. The site is down while I'm working on it so cant provide the link but I have a screen shot of the current display, I had to chop it up pretty good to upload to forum but I think the look I'm going for still translates.

I am using virtuemart 1.1.9 and joomla 1.5.23

I know what you mean but I can't suggest anything if I don't have a link to inspect the current code of the site to give you a solution. When the site is up, just tell me the link and I will check for you.
