Problems opening internet explorer 7, 8, 9

I need help with this template, as it opens well in Firefox, crhome, opera and safari. Except in Internet Explorer, images and text are distorted, the modules are down, is a disaster.

They say it's a problem with the css, help me with that

Likewise....please help! I added a simple background image tile...and it shows in all other browsers except IE. I am no fan of IE...but clients are. please help.
