Date Created/Author misbehaving

In K2 Content I'm getting some weird stuff when viewing in Opera and Safari

When viewing the items in a Category and individual item view in Safari & Opera Mac/Win things that are disabled are visible.

The date created looks like
Friday, 09 July 2010 21:24 -->

The code is

All this information is disabled and yet still visible in Safari and Opera



I've spent yonks trying to get the site customised and this happens.

Where can I hard code these bit's out cos they look $$!#!

Probably it's because of the double commenting symbol.
