Hi

I'm following the "HelpfileTemplateCorp.pdf" to try and get the corporate template working. I've downloaded all of the required files but I cannot find the "Menu Plugin" nor the "GK Typography".

Step 9) For unleashing full menu features you need to install system menu plugin using the Joomla Installer. File: (plg_system_menuparams.zip).

Step 10) To spice up your joomla content, install GK Typography plugin and enable it on Plugins Manager panel. File:(plg.gk_typography.zip).

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Hi,

If it's a new site, I recommend using the "Quick Start" package - it gets everything installed and your site looks EXACTLY like the DEMO (kudos to Gavick).

It's worth ditching everything and starting over.

If not, you can find both in the "plugin" folder inside the unzipped (gk_corporate2_rest_files_J!15) file you downloaded from Gavick.

Hope this helps...

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

It is a new site. I did try the Quickstart but I think I must be doing something daft as I can't get it to appear in the same way as the demo site. That's why I thought I'd go down the manual route.

Here are my actions to use QuickStart:

1) Get Joomla 1.5 up and running on a Windows XP sp2 box using WAMP.
2) The "out of the box" Joomla page appears and is installed = it's working
3) I extract the Corporate 2 QuickStart and copy the contents over the original Joomla files.
4) I know it takes affect because it says the "installation" directory exists and this has to be removed before proceeding.

However, none of the stylish photos and tabs etc, that you expect to see as part of Corporate " are displayed.

Where am I going wrong?

Cheers

Hi

You do not have to install Joomla. Quick Start has it already integrated. Please just unzip the quickstart file, copy to server and run it. The joomla installator will tell You what to do next.

Morning guys

I started again: uninstalled WAMP2.0 and removed all files/databases etc.

Restarted the server and installed WAMP2.0 only.

I then copied the Corporate 2 folder and ran the installation which went fine and checks were passed etc.

When I go to login as admin I'm now getting the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method stdClass::onAuthenticate() in C:wamp2wwwCorporate2librariesjoomlauserauthentication.php on line 121

On Joomla there is a lengthy thread about this error but with many solutions....

http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=431&t=276235

Before I go "tinkering" does anyone know a resolution to this?

Cheers

Hi Teitbite

I've given Admin and all users full rights to the plugin folder (could always retract later) but still the same error I'm afraid.

What do you suggest I try next?

Cheers

Update - I ran through the install with "World News" and that worked and I was able to login as Admin with password demo to the World News site... but still the same error when trying to access Corporate 2.

World News was installed on the same server as Corporate 2 - what's different in the configuration ?

SOLVED!

I was missing a whole bunch of folders and files including the plugin folder. I compared the "Corporate 2" structure to "World News" and noticed that "Corporate 2" only had folders listed up to "Modules", there was no "Plug In" or "Template" folder etc, etc.

I'm not sure why these folders weren't there, perhaps some corruption on my first download? Also, when I first downloaded the Quickstert Guide it was unzipped on a network drive and this may also have come into affected it in some way.

So, I downloaded the Quickstart Guide again and extracted at the root of my local drive. Then copied the files to the server, ran through the install and it works.

I wish it had been that easy from the start, but I've learnt a lot so all good!
