Installing full Templates with data on Linux

I'm new at this and I installed the template but wanted the entire template and the data that I thought would be with it when installing the Tar file. That data is not and when I try to install the Quick Start zip file on Linux (Red Hat) it does not install. What can I do to get the entire template including the template data?
