Custom Keywords for News Feeds?

Is there any way to set predefined key words for the news feeds? Just like Google allows you to enter key words and then emails you any articles containing those key words. Can the news feeds in this template feed news articles on very specific things like Nanotechnology, or Biotech, or Cryonics? As this is the topic of our site. Otherwise all the automated news feeds seem somewhat useless. Then you would just have a bunch of people using this template with the exact same news articles on their site. And that wouldn't make much sense...

Personaly I haven't heared about such thing, but joomla is a grate invention please search the web for some plugin hidding duplicated articles.
