Order articles by date in a section blog independent of category?

Hi,

I want to display articles in my section blog by date, rather than by some combination of category and date. Is it possible? I can't get it to work at present. Furthermore, I can't figure out why the articles appear in the order they do.

I have set Category Order: No, Order by Primary Order
and Primary Order: Most recent first

The articles appear as follows:

Article from Category 1
Article from Category 2
Article from Category 1
Article from Category 1
Article from Category 2

Within each category, they are appearing in date order but the five most recent articles are all in Category 1.

a) yes, it's possible - I need to do xyz
b) no, it's not possible
or
c) yes, it's possible but it's a custom job

The way You have set it should work. But it's a standard joomla feature. Please go to /html/ folder and rename /com_content to /_com_content and try how it works. If the result is the same this means that this problem m is not related with our template and You need to ask on joomla forum.
