Icki sports - thumbnails aren't working !!

No, thats a different theme im using ! im going to use icki sports now on a sub domain and transfer it over ! but the last time i used this theme ! there was a bug and someone reported it think it may have been you ! and nothing has been done !

what it was is the thumbnails wasnt working !

"The problem was on "use plugin support" and "use only plugin" parameters. They were both enable... but, i already notice that there a bug that our programmer must fix.
The problem is that when we enable plugin support, the article that don't have image from photoslide, should display default image article.
This is an error and i'm sure that our programmer will release soon an update version or will have this in consideration on the News Show Pro GK2 (yeap... you see well )

For now, i recommend that you disable the use of plugin support, upgrade News Show Pro version also... and by the way, you joomla is 1.5.14. Not good, upgrade to 1.5.17.

OK Now i remember this issue.
So let me explain again and probably better this time.

- First of all, this does not have anything related with the template. It's exclusively from News Show Pro GK1 version.
- Thumbnails are working fine, like they were always working. The only problem is that when you have the plugin support enable, the module script will check each article if have set thumbnail set on PhotoSlide GK3 component) or if not, it will generate thumbnail from the article source image (the first one). This would be the normal behaviour, but it's not working this way. It only generates thumbnails from one source and not from both at the same time.

Like you already notice, New Show Pro GK4 is out and this will be the project that we will concentrate our future efforts. For now, NSP GK4 doesn't have plugin support, but i think it will be a feature to add in next updates. Like so, NSP GK1 will be a project closed.

Anyway, i will address this issue again to our Programmer and let see what he have to say.

If you are using the quickstart version and if normal thumbnails are not been display, it's from your side. Most probably miss permissions on files. Please insure rewrite permissions on cache folder on module directory.

Anyway, i have get inside the administrator and see that you are using NSP 1.1.0. This is an old version and doesn't have creation of thumbnails. So, please update News Show Pro GK1 with the latest version (download from our free extensions section).

When so, on module parameters you will find the option for thumbnails.

Also, i recommend that you update joomla version to 1.5.18.

yes, its ICKI SPORTS ! ive been really wanting to use this theme for a very very long time ! but last time i tried to use it i had problem with it!

The thumbnails wouldnt show up ! which was really annoying as i couldnt use the theme

so one of the moderators from the gavick forum (here) said yes there is a bug ! so he reported it but nothing has been done about it and im very upset ! as i really want to use that theme as it is such high standard !

please help me !!

Ok if you look here - http://www.stockportinsider.com/ at the tab bit and the white area underneath you will see that no thumbnails are being produced ! is it possible for you to try this : set the file permission to 777 i think it is and clean the cache ! this should work but i dont know how to do it !

Or what would you do to fix it ! as this is an error

Hi I have a problem with the thumbnails on my website I'm using icki sports template and when I do a new post the thumbnails don't appear to be showing! I'm new to joomla so can someone help me to install the latest gavick tools etc and joomla needs updating to new version! I don't know how to do any of this.
like newsgk4 Needs installing.

Hi

To upgrade Joomla please search for right package and simply overwrite the files.

To install modules/components please go in Panel to Extensions >> Install.

It's almost impossible to make a site in 2 days when You want to use new modules/components. I would suggest to use some quickstart template and simply fill it with new content than You will get some time to work on customizing the look of modules.

To display thumbnails You probably lack of permissions (755) on some cache file (probably modules/mod_news_pro_gk1/cache).

Or Your server is lack of GD library which is needed to create them (I'm assuming that the settings are set ok).

Hi mate, all I want are the thumbnails to work! That's the only problem I have With it! I have tried icki sports so many times and the thumbs don't work!

However, I was told many weeks ago that there was going to be a new update coming out for the icki sports template as there was some bugs with it! But I was told that it would be released in the next couple of days and it's not happend!

I just want a fully working blog, with all the new GK stuff on it!

Can you help me with this? And do you know if anything is being done at all about it!
