Template not showing the images

I have installed the template using quickstart package. Everything went fine however, the template is not showing the pictures. Neither on main page slides nor the small pics. On main slider it only shows the a picuture with numbers like 1 for first slide, 2 for second slide etc. I checked in the image directory too and there are no such images as seen in the demo. Actually i do not want to make any change to the demo images hence want to use them as it is.

Please advise.

Please check permissions of your root/images directory and subdirectories, it should set to 755

Well, the pictures are not even available in the demo data. I am using joomla 1.7 template. Apparently the png images named as slide1, slide 2 etc are the greyscale base layer of photshop image. Please check the quickstart zip folder of this template from joomla 1.7.

Changing the file permissions of the image drectory in the root is not the right solution, moderator

Yes, the template contains only some image holders for images from demo site, this is related with copyrights, this was mentioned many times at forum please use search.
