Who's Online Seems Busted

For most of the day now my who's online has said 0 guests and 0 members. It is normally 700-1200 guests and 3-7 members. In fact, in the admin control panel right now it says there are 9 members online, but the who's online on the front end still says 0 - 0.

It has obviously stopped working for whatever reason. Is there a way to sort of restart it?

You can check your cache settings, but in general you should ask for this problem for the Joomla! community, because we are not overriding this module in our templates so the problem must be connected with the core module code.

Thanks. It had been working fine up until yesterday and I had made no changes to anything, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

It must have been a problem with a crashed session or something. I optimized the database and the number of rows in the session table changed. After that it works fine.
