Hello all,

Today and lastnight I have been playing a lot with one of the recently launched Gavick Pro themes named News2.

I have however some problems I can't get by (had more problems because I didn't upgrade my Joomla from 3.1 to 3.2 before trying the theme but I have managed to get past those)

On http://www.roundnews.com the main menu disappers as the visitor scrolls down and appears as a fixed on top bar (normal behavior so far) but as one scrolls back up the menu no longer appears back in place when the fixed bar disappears.

Further more is it just me or does the fixed bar does not work well with bigger logos such as mine. In my browser it appears that the menu overlaps the logo slightly.

As part of my customizations I tried to change the width of the left and right bar so that it fits my needs. Please also feedback on this.

The theme is amazing and I must say I am very happy I am among the first several people that installed this theme ;)

It looks like some JavaScript problem but I've checked clean template an there problem not exists, could you reinstall template? Please firstly download package once again from our download area because it looks like some files may be corrupted.

Thank you for the quick response. I have downloaded gk_news2_J!3.zip this time (previously I used the quickstart).

I tried to replace all JS and CSS files from the theme first but still even with a clear of cache on both server and local browser it didn't work. So I decided to reinstall the template as you suggested. I made screenshots of all my configs, then I uninstalled the theme from the Joomla backend. I installed the theme fresh by uploading the zip under the extension manager installation page. I reconfigured the template again according to my screenshots after I set it as default.

The problem still persists. Further more, sometime yesterday I noticed the menu sub-items suddenly stopped showing. This put me thinking it was something wrong with plg_gkextmenu. I uninstalled it, and then installed it again and made it active but the problem still persists.

Did anybody else encounter any of these problems? For the top bar problem I started changing the css styles so that when I scroll up again the bar shows (I noticed right now it is being sent almost completely outside the visible display browser area (though some pixel lines from the bottom of the menu can still be seen). However, modifying the css styling is not a good idea as I still have to see the site will look ok on all webbrowsers (this is, if I manage to fix this from css).

I think I forgot to mention: I am using the 3.x version of the template. I think the live demo that is hosted on Gavick is of the template running on Joomla 2.5.

Could it be possible that the 3.X version has some bugs? Or could it be the template was not made to handle many menu entries in the top menu and because of this it breaks?

In the meantime I have solved the problem myself. Seems that although the News2 template can be configured not to display element with id gkToolBar the javascript for the menu-on-top feature relays on this ID and puts the bar before this ID. Since I didn't want to have the search, highlighter element or the last-updated note my theme was not creating the div with this ID.

The fix meant I had to add search and then highlighter as a bar with only search looked awfull
