Adding HTML landing page before the actual websote?

Hi,
I need to add promo landing page that will load completely before the website. I tried renaming the original index.php to index2.php but that doesn't work after any click.

Anyone here stepped on this kind of request of problem?
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Hi,
1) Don't touch default Joomla files, it never works
2) You can use index.html - which should be loaded as first - before index.php - but on some servers you have to change order in .htaccess

3) Idea - could be another template only for homepage and for rest using another. It request only two menus and two templates. Easy.

the .htaccess did the trick DD

Needed to mod the logo.php so clicking on the logo directs to ./index.php but other than that, works flawlessly
Now I have original landing page like blizzard D
