New Template (March)

Hey guys! You know I am a total nerd when I check the Gavick site 5-10 times a day to see if the new template came out. Are you guys releasing one this month??

I have memberships at 3 premium template providers and I spend a lot on other templates on different marketplaces (primarily one), but Gavick is always my first choice! Hoping to see something exciting soon. I have a few projects I am hoping I can use Gavick for.

FYI, I am currently building a website using a Gavick template for a huge client. One of the most successful brands in the history of it's industry. It's crazy that a small company like us got the project. US based/internationally known, Super excited to share!

But in the meantime- I am anxiously awaiting a new template. (Template for the major client is already chosen and under development).

It's a non e-commerce site using the GAME template- so naturally 3.2 was the right decision for both my client and I. I have gotten very comfortable with 3.x and think the back-end is significantly more beautiful than 2.5.

Additionally, the client isn't launching this site for about 4 more months and we should see a stable 3.5 by then.

In my opinion, as a front-end developer just doing some heavy CSS modification and light PHP modification, 3.x makes the most sense since the template developers have already worked out bugs/compatibility issues that I wont have to deal with. (Although I experienced a major bug with a well-respected framework from another reputable template developer when upgrading from 3.1.6 to 3.2 that halted my project for 48 hours).

The only major downfall to using 3.x, in my opinion (which is temporary) Is Virtuemart failing to release a compatible version for 3.x STILL.

Really nice theme! Too bad I was in such a hurry to have it installed that I bricked my Joomla =))

Made a ticket with my hosting provider to rollback a previous backup and I will be careful. Just as a side note: If you have nginx with Joomla 3.1 then be careful (though it could have been because of other plugins/modules I had installed too)
