K2 URL rewriting or configuration

I am building a new site using 'Creativity' and I have a problem with how URLs are displayed.

This is what I get now:

Code: Select all

http://sbsim.com/k2/k2-categories/bicycle-frame-cfd-simulation

I would like to get rid of

Code: Select all

/k2/k2-categories

or at the very least get rid of

Code: Select all

/k2

and use an actual category name instead of

Code: Select all

/k2-categories

.

I tried playing with the K2 advanced SEF settings but I cannot seem to make any progress, I only ever get even more unnecessary things added to the URL making it ever longer.

Thank you for the link and the ensuing explanation. It's been many years since I used Joomla so I must have forgotten. I installed Direct Alias plugin and will see if I can make that work.

You can always create some htaccess rewrite rules but probably plugin/extension is easier way to resolve this problem.
