Hi, I would like to ask for a big help here. I'm quite new to Joomla and I'm wondering how can I have a newsletter module in my website, whereby when they type in their email address, they will will a newsletter from us. It is a similar concept to the Simplicity template: https://www.gavick.com/joomla-templates ... y,115.html.

Another question related to this is that, can I install other available Joomla extension when I install via QuickStart, or must I use all that is available under GavickPro only?

Let me know please?

Thank you.

Hi,
you have to install newsletter component (which include module also) - you can choose free or commercial solution.
For start I suggest: Acymailing Starter or jNews (free)

Then publish this module on one of available position.

Sure, as many you want :D from JED (http://extensions.joomla.org/) or from our website.
Of course sometimes there can be small (JS conflicts) problems when you install & publish too much.

I'm quite new to Joomla..

I suggest to study some books (from PacktPub or Joomla shop) and our GK Wiki (see link below)

Joomla is like LEGO bricks, have fun.

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about. Afraid that it will crash and then crash my whole web. Haha.

Cool! Thank you for the great suggestion! I actually bought a book from PacktPub on the older version of Joomla last few years (need to learn something quick and ended up not using it..haha  ), and because Joomla has released up to version 3, the book is really outdated already. :side:
That's a good quote, I guess it's more fun than building LEGO bricks! :D

That's why I suggest to buy a new one!

Joomla! 3 Beginner’s Guide - also from PacktPub, published: March 2013, http://www.packtpub.com/joomla-3-beginners-guide/book - read reviews about on amazon.
...and after few months will be also mine.

Sure, because after you'd played somebody will pay you for a result. :D

Joomla have modules, like Lego bricks so you can add them, change positions etc.

p.s.
I also impart coaching and training - also know how much joy Joomla gives.
