Favicon doesnt display on IE browsers

Hi

I am currently using a number of templates and add the favicon using the template features. It displays perfectly in Firefox and Chrome but not in any version of IE. I have tried putting the favicon in the root and followed few other solutions on other forums regarding the display of favicon, but it doesnt work for gavick templates.

Please advise how i can fix this problem

Please wait for couple of hours. I've noticed that some browsers needs more time than other to update favicon.

I can see You have a code for favicon right, even more than needed So I believe problem must be with image itself. Please tell me which generator have You used. I'll try to check if it's producing right icons.

on one of them i used a component called phoca favicon. The others i just resized the imaged to 50x50 pixels and uploaded it in the template features.

I think i need to run the image through these converters. What do you recommend?

Yes, that's the problem exactly Favicons needs to be gnerated it's not as easy as resizing standard images (at least not according to IE ). I'm using this one: http://favicon-generator.org/

I have the same problem.
I can visualise my favicon in Safari and Mozzila Firefox, but not at Chrome or I Explorer.

I did use favicon creator.

Try uploading a smaller size image in favicon generator. try a 50x50 pixel image.

Try placing the favicon in your images folder. I see you have it within your templates folder.

Done, but still the same.. Chrome shows me joomla icon, and Safari works fine.

What @Nimeshin advised is a right solution. Problem is that favicon may not be updated fast enought to see it. In IE clearing a browser's cache is not releasing a favicon either, so in some cases it may take couple days to see the new icon.
