Hey Gavick,

Just curious if the "Old Templates" that are no longer support were ever going to be released again? Or available as say a free download?

Could be a good idea to get people involved with the site, or just to see what projects people create with the existing designs.

It is difficult to simply respond to this question.
I guess that saying about old templates You're talking about this for Joomla 1.5.

 Web trends are changing, as well as the expectations of our and their customers.

Therefore, I do not know if it would have more sense. However, it depends on which template you mean exactly?

p.s.
Besides, whether it makes sense to build a website in 2013, based on Joomla 1.5. Remember that more than a week there is no longer extensions on JED for J1.5.

I'm pretty sure the original post was referring to the style/design. Not the components or modules. For instance, I would love to have a new 2.5/3.0 version ICKI Sports styled template. That was a very slick styled template.

As far as releasing the old files, useful or not what does it hurt? Even if the components are no longer supported. Just be clear about that and people are on their own if they choose to go for it.
