What is Rest file and news file?

I am new here just today.
From what i know only the quick install file were use but what about the other file in news and esport template that were name like zip news and zip rest. Meaning the two other file beside the quick install files in those template?
Do they need to be download to?

"gk_eSport_J!25.zip" is used if you already have a joomla installation and just want to install template on its own without any demo content. You will need to create categories, menus, modules etc manually.

"gk_eSport_rest_files_J!17.zip" Contains additional plug-ins, psd files which is needed to complete above installation or for template to function properly.

"gk_eSport_quickstart_J!25.zip" is a quick start package which is a modified joomla installation which creates a website similar to our demo site.
