cache confused

whats the right way to use cache ?

im very confused ... i have so many cache settings

for better loading times ... whats the best cache setting/plugins to enable ?

this is what i have ... everything its on ...

in plugin manager :
#1 GK Cache = enabled
#2 System - Cache = enabled
#3 plg_system_gavickExtCache = enabled

in template manager :
#1 Use GK Cache = on
#2 CSS cache = on

in System Settings :
#1 Cache = on Progressive caching
#2 Cache Handler = file
#3 Cache Time = 15

is this correct ? for the best loading time ?

First of all you need to disable default Joomla! system cache plugin which is mentioned here http://www.gavick.com/documentation/joomla-extensions/extensions-for-joomla-1-6/gk-cahce-plugin/ then please enable conservative not progressive cache in global settings.
