Hello,

I really like Gavern framework and would like to implement it in custom made templates. I have a few questions:
    1. Where can I download Gavern framework? I mean - only framework, without a template. Or is it only available for download with Meet Gavern template?
    2. How should I implement the framework so I can I easily update it later? I'm asking this, because when I look at the Meet Gavern files I see it as a simple template. If I modify something, I will have to check all files for modifications, when Gavern framework update is released. What is the workflow with your framework?

Hi,

1. The Gavern Framework is an integral part of the Meet Gavern template.

2. In general all updates are available on the github repository so you can easliy see the changes in the code using the compare view: https://github.com/GavickPro/Meet-Gavern

Thank you for your answer :) So it means that if I make 10 websites based on Gavern framework, I'll have to check all the files for changes when an update comes out? That's a big sitback for a framework :(

Sorry but there is no other way to fix problems with the view files. Of course core framework code is separated from the other template code, but sometimes we need to fix something in the view files and the you have to check all modified files.

But I guess that most of the changes for template developers using your framework would be in the template.css, override.css files and layouts catalog?

Is it safe to use Gavern with Joomla 2.5?

It is normal thing that if you will want to implement new features then you will have tu update these files.

And the Meet Gavern template is prepared only for Joomla! 3.0 or higher. If you need the Gavern framework for Joomla! 2.5 then please install the Music Free template.

I see. So the latest version on Gavern framework for J2.5 is 3.5? How long will it be supported and updated? Will it be easy to migrate to Joomla 3.5 when it will be out next year?

What should be the correct steps to rebuild an existing Joomla template to work with Gavern framework?

In general we won't release any update for 3.5 version if it is not necessary. We are releasing the new versions often - usually one per 4-6 weeks. If it contains everything what you need then you haven't to update it.

Currently nobody knows if the upgrade to Joomla! 3.5 will be easy so I cannot reply for this question.

I cannot provide you the correct steps to recode the specific template for Gavern Framework, because it is a very individual case. Additionally please check if it have a sense, because you will have probably start from scratch to build the specific template with the Gavern Framework.
