hello
i would like to know why some pages get really messed up on my site as soon as i enable css compression in the template ,,and could you please suggest me some extension that may help me speeding up my page loading thanks

omg now what ? the whole frontpage is messed up ? why it keeps happening ? why enabling css compression messes up my pages ?????

Hi

Not all CSS files can be compressed. This is why there is an option to exclude some files from it. Please send me an access to your joomla panel so I'll check which one is messing it up.

Hi

I've wasn't able to find the problem myself. Looks like there is a very big file created which got problems to load on the site. I've gave Your access to programmers but they will ask for an FTP access. Can You please send it to me so I'll pass it to them ?

Hi

Please ask Your host provider for FTP access. There is no option to create one via panel You gave me an access to. I've tried couple of options already, but I do not know much of hosting panels too.

I've send the new FTP and programmers has noticed that it's an old version of the template, so problem may be related with it. Please update the template to the latest version and let me know if problem will still be there.

Hi

I can see it's updated now. Also CSS compression is ON and site looks ok. Am I right ? The only thing missing is to move template language file to /languages/en_GB folder.

Hi

I've cleared cache yesterday and all issues were gone, site was loading files from old installation. I've written a post about it here, but I cannot see it it. Probably because screen with page look was too big.

this is a nightmare to be honest ,,i cant believe it,,it keeps happening over n over again ,,i disabled a lot of extensions,,,<< plug-ins<< and checked the cache,,,and nothing changed,,,i am so tired of this,,i am losing traffic because of this,,,the template keeps messing up ,,,i dont know what to do anymore,,, :cry:

Hi

I've been visiting Your site every couple of hours and had not seen anything wrong till today when couple of warnings about accessing CSS files appeared. I've described everything to programmers so they will take over from here.

Programmers has spoke:

@teitbite template is not up to date. I've compared one file gk.framework.php with version of repository. Compression can't work because there is no code from compression in template files.


So please reinstall the template, because something must have gone wrong the first time.

Hi

You will loose all changes to the template You've made. If You remember the changes (if You have done any) please move all css modifications to override.css file and store it in a safe place. HTML/PHP changes will have to be made one more time after the update will be done.

The easiest and safer way to make an update is to:

1. MOVE current template directory outside /templates folder
2. UPLOAD via ftp new version of the template to /templates directory
3. OVERWRITE stored override.css file within new template

This way You will have a copy of an old template to get back to it or to check older files.

the username is the talented society ,,but the password is the same and the problem is the same like everyday ,,,please help ,,its been a whole week since i opened this thread and always no problem ,,,i cant even rest when i am away from the site,,,because as you see,,,the problem keeps messing up the site

I know it's been a week, and it's frustrating to me too. I cannot even login to check settings and if template was updated properly. This login problem indicates that this can be connected with serve configuration too. Pleas try to disable LDAP plugin.

i am so thankful for all the efforts you are exerting in helping and giving me the best support ,,i already told you i changed the username to << the talented society << as you see it with spaces << and the password is still the same and i just disabled LDAP joomla Plugin ,,,sorry i didnt even know why this plugin was published ,,,,,u can try now :) ,,and please let me know if you find my website speed slow,,,i had to disactivate css compress,,,gk cache,,,anyway as soon as you log in ,,,you'll see everything by yourself,,much love & respect for your help and hopefully we can get thru this :) ,, and is the last update of gavick template compatible with smart phones ? :)

Sorry for this login thing. I did not understood that it was a login which was replaced. Ok, I've confirmed the update is done properly this time and has send it back to programmers. Anyway if I will not get back with an answer till tomorrow I think You should try use a different optimization extension. I think JCH was the one I've been using recently: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... ance/12088 . Let me know when You will gonna activate it so it not mess programmers work.

i just started using JCH extension,,,what i want is to compress my template css in order to have a fast loading page since CSS does seem the only problem right now and i hope the developers find out the problem this time :) thanks

Sorry for delay. I got sick.

I'm having a problem to explain Your issue to programmers. Looks like they've been checking a different problem with Your css compression. I do not know. It's probably my fault. I'm sorry for that. This is the last message I've got from them:

teitbit previously I see only your info that site is not working when compression is disabled. Anyway I've excluded this files from cache because they are even not visible via firebug and not added to site - quite complicated probably of of the plugins remove this files (I have no idea) and this is impossible to debug this with this amout of external extension. Site is loading more than 30 scritps ...


I think You should try to use a css compresion from JCH plugin. Looks like this problem can be caused by a small error in one of this 30 files which is unable to locate. I can just hope JCH compression script has it covered.

no need to apologize,,,i hope you get better ,,,well the problem is the same,,,believe me even using JCH plugin,,i did detect the same messed up front page yesterday,,,anyway ,,,the developers are unable to help me as i see even they try and i am not sure how they work ,,,but i will try to detect the problem ,,and i will let you know,,, again thanks and i hope you get better ,,,:) ;)

Hi

About messed up frontpage I think it can be because of a Progressive Cache enabled in joomla. Our template's cache was invented to fix this bug. So please disable joomla cache and use a template one. I'm not sure if this is the problem in Your case, but this is a known issue and it's described in documentation. I've never seen Your site broken, just this error messaged I could not get rid of.

Hello after days of watching so closely the site ,,i noticed that the problem is in joomla cache,,,i think Gavick pro cache doesnt work or its not compatible with joomla , anyway i have disabled joomla cache,,and since then ,,,the front page is not messed up ,,,5 stars for teitbite for the excellent support thanks a lot man ,,much appreciated

Sorry I wasn't clear with my last post. Because what You noticed was exactly what I was thinking. That You should use Gavick cache instead. I know progressive cache do not work with values from cookies well. This is why we've developed our own. I just forget to mentions that joomla one needs to be disabled. In the matter of fact it's being used by our plugin, but the troubled part is disabled.

yes you were right , the problem is not in progressive or normal joomla cache,,,the problem is in joomla cache everything is fine now,,,i guess the page loads fast and better thanks for all the help :)

hello again ,,,i found out that JCH plugin is causing me problem with jomsocial ,,i cant create event ,,i mean i cant set date time of event and i cant log in ,,,now i disabled it and everything works fine and even gk cache doesn't appear in error of firefox ,,,,thanks

Ok. As I remember You can exclude some files/components in JCH configuration. Maybe it's a good idea to just disable it for this couple problematic and not all.
